COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR, DALOA
The role
The Communications Coordinator will provide leadership for the integrated communications strategy that provides targeted communication to different stakeholders (including families and children) who are addressing child labor in cocoa. Under the direct line management of the Project Director, s/he will collaborate with Social Behavior Change (SBC) advisor and communications team to develop and disseminate child protection and child labor law information via multiple communication channels. S/he will also support the monitoring of results from communication activities, and all project-related external communications.
Qualifications and experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or similar field
- Minimum three years of professional experience in communications work for child rights or child protection issues
- Proven experience developing and implementing communications strategies through a variety of means, such as traditional, digital, and social media, and/or storytelling
- Experience in developing child-friendly communication materials
- Ability to develop communications strategies using behavioral and social change methodologies, including audience segmentation and social mobilization
- Ability to meet deadlines, achieve targets, and provide all required inputs to deliverables
- An excellent team player with good interpersonal skills and consultative approach for informed decision making
- Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact, and diplomacy
- The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances
- Excellent oral and written French
Contract length: 24 months renewable
