To further enhance their business, they are currently seeking a skilled Business Development
Manager to promote blasting services and initiation systems within the mining, quarry, and
Infrastructure industries.

Job Purpose
Generate New Sales beyond existing customers.
Backlog creation.
Business Development: drive extensive actions on development of new relationships and
acquiring new customers/contract in the Mining Sector and expand current customer base
Mapping of potential customers and competitors’ positions in the Region
Establish key contacts with local stakeholders and potential customers in targeted countries
Develop compelling and cost-effective proposals to customers in line with company targets
Position our product in the market and develop value proposition adapted to each client
including the technical value of our product and service.
OBJECTIVES & OUTCOME
Establish and develop business relationships with new customers as per the portfolio assigned and
guidelines provided from Sales & Marketing Manager
Contribute to strategic planning through collection of market and competitive intelligence
Recommend pricing, product and penetration strategies to meet objectives
Focus areas: Ghana, Mali, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, Senegal markets
Local regulations: ensure understanding of permitting process and other regulations that could
affect the license to operate
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business Development
Identify potential customers
Manage business development pipeline.
Prioritize, plan and execute actions in relation to accounts to maximize customer profitability and
cash generation for new contracts
Evaluate tenders and invitations to determine which are appropriate to pursue
Liaise with TAP and Operational functions to determine solutions to meet customers’ technical
requirements
Identify and communicate key value propositions for customers
Responsible for oversight of all actions relating to target accounts
Prepare presentations, reports and documents for customer meetings
Strategic Management
Assisting the Sales and Marketing Manager with preparation of tender documents, financial models
and costings for internal approval process
Recommends strategic penetration of mining key accounts
Provide input regarding pricing and products strategy
Relationship Management
Stakeholders management: Build strong relations with potential customers
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
Market share gain % in Mining Segment
Revenue and profitability levels of mining accounts
Accounts receivable days outstanding
Number of new accounts
Revenue generation
Opportunity pipeline and backlog value
Requirement
Degree in Business or Engineering or an MBA
Fluent in English, working knowledge in French is a plus
Experience: minimum 5 to 7 years in business development or sales in the mining sector
Very familiar with African mining environment – especially in the explosive environment
Successful previous experience as a sales or business development manager, consistently meeting
or exceeding targets
Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels
of the organization
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
Strong business sense and industry expertise
