Place :  Côte d’Ivoire (Sites of Bonikro & Agbaou)

Bonikro Gold Mine, a significant gold mining operation located in Côte d'Ivoire. We are committed to responsible and sustainable mining practices, ensuring the safety of our employees, local communities, and the environment.

About the position

We are currently looking for an experienced Environmental Manager to assist the General Manager to design a sustainable and feasible management plan for all environmental aspects (structures, policies, processes and people) and deploy the sustainable development strategy of the Allied Gold Corporation Group.

This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to environmental stewardship. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and implement an annual strategy for environmental management in support of the organization's strategy;
• Propose sustainable solutions or practices to maintain or improve the environment impacted by operations;
• Develop a culture of continuous improvement throughout the Agbaou and Bonikro Gold Mine sites;
• Integrate international best practices in sustainable development and the environment into Cote d'Ivoire operations;
• Work to create synergy between the teams of the two mines in Cote d'Ivoire;

• Continuously develop employees to improve their skills and understanding of technical aspects;
• Support the development of a rehabilitation plan for operational sites in Cote d'Ivoire;
• Participate to internal and external audits.

This is a permanent contract based in Bonikro with a work cycle of 10 working days followed by 5 days off.

Qualifications :

• A higher diploma in the field of environmental management or equivalent;
• At least 5 years of proven experiences as similar position, preferably in the mining industry;
• Knowledge of legal requirements regarding environmental management;
• Ability to proactively resolve problems;
• Attentive, detail and results oriented;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Fluency in French & English is essential.
