CHAUFFEUR DE VEHICULES LEGERS (LV DRIVER)
Description du poste
1. ROLES
Reporting to the HR Officer - Camp and Transport, the Driver is responsible for driving company buses and light vehicles with passengers from site to village and from camp to mine, in accordance with the Company’s driving policy and safety standards.
2. MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
General
• Take control and show responsibility for the vehicle and passengers on board
• Very good knowledge of the city of Abidjan
• Very good knowledge of Ivorian traffic laws
• Complete vehicle logs, maintenance and safety checks
• Use the vehicle only under the Supervisor’s planning and requirements
• Drive safely and with full respect to traffic code
• Carry out pre-start vehicle inspection, monitor any issue and ensure timely report on mechanical problems, incidents or accidents
• Report any health/fatigue issue that can affect his/her driving ability
• Keep the vehicle clean
• Assist with the loading and check the contents of the load
• Must observe daily resting period
Safety Management:
• Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
• Ensure that agreed procedures, safeguards and controls are applied and used.
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures
• Ensure hazard management plans are observed.
Keep statutory and internal reporting as required.

3. POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• At least secondary school level
• Valid bus driver’s licence with clean driving record
• Competent bus driver
• Prior experience on a mine site as a driver
• Knowledge of road conditions in Ivory Coast (specially in Abidjan)
• Basic knowledge of the mechanical functions of a vehicle will be an asset
• Good time management and punctuality
• Ability to perform required physical and manual handling elements of the position
• Ability to record tasks undertaken and report on activities
• French language skills
• Have an accommodation in Abidjan will be desirable
• Ability to communicate in English will be desirable
• Sound numerical skills and understanding
• High level of integrity with a strong sense of urgency
