SUMMARY OF WORK:

Under the direct responsibility of the Program Manager, the Community Mobilizer will facilitate community collaboration (to include but not limited to) with individuals, groups, stakeholders, local leaders, government representatives, children and school personnel. The focus of this position will also include creating and strengthening efforts via these target audiences aimed at improving the communities’ health status. The CM, will coordinate the implementation of WASH interventions at the project level to ensure that communities are empowered for sustainable WASH interventions.

Major Responsibilities:

- Lead and oversee all community mobilization and other IEC/BCC project activities.
- Provide a high level of technical expertise and inputs into the design and development of IEC/BCC strategies and plans aligned with project objectives.
- Facilitate community entry in targeted communities and maintain good relationships with community leaders over the life of the project (in collaboration with the WASH Technical Assistant);
- Provide direct technical support to partners to ensure high technical soundness and high-quality results and ownership;
- Support the Animators in the smooth and effective implementation of the community and school-based mobilization and sensitization activities.
- Support the development and implementation of appropriate participatory approaches to water, hygiene and sanitation and WASH in Schools and to promote community problem solving and decision-making concerning water, hygiene, and sanitation activities
- Develop strong relationships with key project partners at the regional and district levels, local community leaders and other partners identified over the course of implementation of school and community-based WASH activities.
- Participate in planning and budgeting, preparation of work plans, implementation of planned activities and monitoring/ reporting of progress.
- Participate in periodic reviews, including quarterly reviews to identify success stories relating to the project and areas of improvement
- Establish and maintain excellent working relations with the concerned government departments in the districts of intervention;
- Conduct initial meetings in community about project activities and with local authorities (sub-prefectures, prefectures, mayors, regional councils, etc.)
- Conduct meetings/sessions in communities and ensure better participation of communities and sensitize them about the project activities;
- Assist in Organizing & conducting training on project activities and other HFHCI’s programs and/or activities.
- Participate in project related meetings/ training/workshops etc.
- Ensure complete & advance preparation of materials & stationary to be used in the training;
- Ensure Documentation of all Activities of the Project in soft and hard;
- Ensure timely submission of weekly/monthly work plans et reports;
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager;
- Documentation of evidence-based impact stories.

Profil du poste

Eligibilities and requirements Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas: public health, social work, local Development, and/or Sociology, WASH, environment;
- 3 years of relevant work experience in similar organizational/functional context.
- Experience in coordinating/dialoguing with demanding stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience in participatory engagement.
- Additional qualification in water, sanitation, hygiene education will be an added advantage,
- Experience leading community-focused IEC/BCC campaign in WASH sector will be an added advantage
- Experience leading CLTS project will be an added advantage,
