Candidate Profile

This is a new role being created for a quota bearing sales manager and will focus on the sales of election modernization software solutions within Sub-Saharan Africa, focused on the French speaking countries.

The position will report directly to the Sales Director Sub-Saharan Africa. This is a predominantly self-autonomous and challenging role that requires the right candidate to show ownership, enthusiasm, professionalism and an entrepreneurial spirit towards business. This is a role which requires frequent travelling within the given region.

The role would suit someone who is currently in a commercial role, selling complex software solutions/services into African market place in the public sector. Knowledge and understanding of the sales cycle/process of procurement in central and local government within the region will be key to succeed in this role. The role could also suit to someone that has a major experience in working in Multilateral Organizations, NGOs; with focus on Electoral matters as well as funding mechanism and/or with Consultancy firms specialized in Electoral advisory.

Flexible on location, this position can be based anywhere in Western Africa as long as it’s well connected to an international airport but with preferences in Ivory Coast or Senegal.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Sales Directors and GM of the region in developing and executing a regional strategy and business plan.
  • Attend customer sites and regional events to promote the products/services.
  • Gather market knowledge and work with key stakeholders to maximize conversion of opportunities.
  • Secure and close deals partners, where necessary to gain business.
  • Report regularly on sales pipeline and current opportunities.

Requirements

  • French mother tongue and at negotiation level, English being a plus.
  • Demonstrable commercial ability in to the public sector (regional and state government level).
  • Having first-level contacts at the public sector level will be a valuable plus.
  • First-hand knowledge of IT, selling Software solutions and services, as well as a background in electoral solutions are a must.
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels (users to senior managers).
  • Experience of working in diverse teams and team management ability.
  • Availability to travel at short notice.
  • Comfortable working remotely.
