FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (FMS) DATA ANALYST

Reporting to Warehouse & Inventory Coordinator, the FMS Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex datasets related to our fuel procurement, consumption, and efficiency. He will also be responsible for all documentation related to fuel management. He will play a critical role in optimizing our fuel strategy, reducing operational costs, and improving overall fleet performance. By transforming raw data into actionable insights, he will help drive strategic decisions and support our commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The core responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
1- Data Analysis & Reporting
• Collect, cleanse, and consolidate fuel data from various sources, including telematics systems (FMS), fuel card providers, bulk fuel suppliers, and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Km Per liter, Cost Per km, idle time, and fuel transaction anomalies.
• Analyze fuel consumption patterns to identify trends, outliers, and opportunities for improvement across different vehicles, routes, drivers, and regions.
• Generate regular (daily, weekly, monthly) and ad-hoc reports for management, highlighting performance, cost savings, and areas of concern.
2- Cost Optimization & Procurement Support
• Monitor and analyze fuel market trends (e.g., using FMS data and Sunshine Data ) to inform purchasing strategies and timing for bulk fuel buys.
• Conduct analysis to support fuel hedging strategies and contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Identify and investigate instances of potential fuel theft, fraud, or misuse through data analysis and exception reporting.
• Forecast future fuel consumption and budget requirements based on historical data and operational projections.
PERFORMANCE & EFFIENCY IMPROVEMENT
• Analyze the impact of drivers and fuel agents behavior on fuel efficiency and provide data-driven recommendations for driver and fuel agents training programs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of fuel-saving initiatives, such as the adoption of new vehicle technologies, aerodynamic devices, or alternative fuels.
• Collaborate with the Fleet Maintenance team to correlate fuel performance with vehicle age, maintenance schedules, and component health.
• Model the financial and operational impact of potential changes to routes, schedules, or vehicle assignments.
DATA INTEGRITY & SYSTEM MANAGEMENT:
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all fuel-related data within our systems.
• Work with ERP and FMS vendors to troubleshoot data integration issues from telematics and fuel card systems.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for fuel management software and data platforms.
SAFETY MANAGEMENT :
• Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
• Ensure that agreed procedures, safeguards and controls are applied and used.
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures
• Ensure hazard management plans are observed.
• Keep statutory and internal reporting as required.
