LEGAL COUNSEL

Description du poste

• Draft and review all legal contracts within an assigned functional or business domain and maintain a consistent contract management process
• Manage and co-ordinate independently legal project within the assigned function or business area, e.g. in-house projects, including complex corporate projects, M&A and divestment
• Participate in negotiating complex contracts, solutions, settlements, and litigations, finding creative, workable and legally correct solutions
• Interact/negotiate with the legal representatives of customers, trade associations, government authorities/agencies, including law-enforcement agencies and engage in local trade associations compliance
• Ensure all relevant Group Regulations are enacted and implemented at country level within the legal framework of the relevant country in a timely manner
• Provide assistance in connection with the finalization of implementation of all ICM Packages with sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
• Proactively advise and guide platform staff and senior management in all legal and compliance related areas
• Coordinate the corporate compliance activities such as trainings, seminars and focused campaigns and serve typically as the Country Compliance Function.

Insurances

• Lead and direct the process of identifying, measuring and managing insurable or hazard risks which may hinder company property, equipment or resources (human & capital)
• Negotiate a sufficiently controlled, cost effective and appropriate combination of insurance, loss prevention, or other risk financing/management programs that help optimize operations
• Supervise, lead and direct key risk coverage programs and manage claims and loss of any kind against insurance companies or third parties in a proper and efficient way.

Data Privacy

• Actively support the implementation of Data Privacy Package
• Provide Data Privacy consultancy and subject matter expertise in projects of top relevance
• Stay on top of legal and regulatory developments in Data Privacy legislation in WCA and drive lobbying on Data Privacy topics based on monitoring and evaluation of the main changes in Data Privacy legislation and main trends.

Profil du poste

• A minimum of 3 years of legal relevant experience in multinational or a law firm environment
• University degree or equivalent from an accredited law school
• Role model for the Bayer LIFE Values, Leadership, Integrity, Flexibility and Efficiency
• Strength in planning, organization and management with a track record in handling multiple projects and cases
• Strong analytical skills to assess risk involvement, extent of legal liability, financial impact and long term effects of own decisions on the Bayer business
• Team-oriented leadership skills honed through experience with senior management
• Developed communication skills both in French and English
• Sharp business acumen
• Familiar with risk management
• Reliable professional who is not afraid to speak his mind and stands by his decisions
