1- PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
The Supply Chain Specialist is accountable for the governance, coordination, and performance
assurance of all site supply chain activities supporting contractor-delivered mining operations.
Reporting to the SML Supply Chain Specialist and operationally embedded within the Mota-Engil Supply
Chain & Logistics management structure, the role provides owner-side leadership over procurement,
logistics, warehousing, inventory control, and contracts support.
The role supports production continuity and value delivery through strong interfaces with Operations,
Maintenance, Finance, and Mota-Engil commercial and logistics teams.
2 - KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Safety, Health & Environment
• Promote a strong safety culture across all supply chain, logistics, and warehousing activities.
• Ensure compliance with site HSE systems during procurement, storage, handling, and transport
activities.
• Ensure hazardous goods and dangerous materials are managed in accordance with statutory and
site requirements.
Supply Chain Management
• Provide governance and performance oversight of site supply chain activities within a contractor-led
operating model.
• Establish and monitor supply chain KPIs including service levels, inventory accuracy, lead times, and
cost performance.
• Ensure supply chain processes align with company policies, contractual obligations, and Mota-Engil
execution frameworks.
Procurement & Logistics Support
• Support and oversee procurement, sourcing, tendering, and contract management activities.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including import/export, customs clearance, and
transport.
Inventory & Warehousing Support
• Ensure effective inventory control, stock accuracy, and warehouse operations.
• Oversee cycle counting programs, reconciliation of discrepancies, and investigation of losses.
• Optimise inventory levels to minimise working capital and obsolescence risk while maintaining
availability.
Owner–Contractor Interface & Governance
• Act as the owner-side supply chain authority embedded within Mota-Engil operations.
• Ensure contractor supply chain execution complies with site standards, contracts, and regulatory
requirements.
• Coordinate closely with Mota-Engil operations and maintenance teams to align supply priorities.
• Escalate supply risks, constraints, or systemic issues through the Supply Chain Manager.

3- SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Education:
• Diploma or Degree in business, supply chain management or engineering desirable.
Relevant experience:
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in an Industrial supply chain setting (Experience in gold
mining or related industry would be an advantage).
• Minimum 3–5 years’ experience at Superintendent or Senior Supervisor level.
• Demonstrated experience working within West African or similar regulatory environments.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, contract management, logistics, customs, and inventory
control.
• Experience using ERP systems for materials and procurement management.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and French is mandatory.
