Legal Officer (M/F)
Empower Talents & Careers is looking for a Legal Officer for one of its clients.
MAIN MISSION
The Legal Officer ensures legal and regulatory oversight of all regional activities, while aligning local practices with Group policies and standards. They advise senior management on legal, contractual, and governance matters and guarantee the protection of the Group's interests.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
• Advise the Area General Manager and local subsidiaries on all legal, contractual and regulatory matters.
• Ensure regional operations comply with local and international laws.
• Managing relationships with local authorities, notaries, lawyers and institutional partners.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, agreements, conventions and official documents (suppliers, clients, partners).
• Oversee the management of legal risks, identify areas of vulnerability and propose corrective measures.
• Advising on matters of corporate law, taxation, employment, intellectual property and regulatory compliance.
• Represent the Group during legal proceedings, audits, inspections and any potential litigation.
• Establish and monitor internal procedures and governance policies for the region.
• Collaborating with the Group's Legal Department to ensure harmonization of practices and compliance with international standards.
• To ensure legal and regulatory monitoring of regional markets.
• Draft periodic legal reports for the General Management and the Group.
Profil du poste
REQUIRED SKILLS / SOFT SKILLS:
• Proven experience in an international group or multinational company.
• Ability to act as a trusted strategic legal advisor to the General Management.
• Excellent sense of initiative, proactivity and dynamism.
• Ability to work independently as the sole legal representative for the region.
• Strong skills in writing, negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Integrity, professional ethics and a sense of confidentiality.
• Excellent ability to manage stakeholders and thrive in complex environments.
• Fluency in French and English (written and spoken) is essential.
• Geographic mobility and availability for frequent travel to Senegal and other countries in the region.
TRAINING
• Master's degree (Bac+5) in business law, international law, corporate law or equivalent legal discipline.
• A specialization in international business law or compliance is an asset.
• Experience in an international law firm or within the legal function of a multinational group is desirable.
• Experience within a Big Four firm is highly desirable;
