The Delegation of the German Industry and Commerce in Côte d'Ivoire (AHK Côte d'Ivoire), located in Abidjan, is part of the worldwide network of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce present in 93 countries. It is dedicated to promoting and increasing economic exchanges and bilateral investments between Côte d'Ivoire and Germany. With the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs (BMWE), the AHK Côte d'Ivoire opened its doors in Abidjan in June 2023 and covers the countries of French-speaking West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinee, Mali, Senegal, and Togo) as well as Cameroon.
We are looking for an Event & PR Manager to complete the Department of Services and Projects. Description of the position:
Under the direct supervision of the Delegate, the Event & PR Manager will play an essential role in shaping implementing the Delegation’s communication and visibility.
Your tasks comprise but are not restricted to:
Event management:
• Organise networking events, trade shows, trainings and conferences
• Coordinate logistics and service providers
• Prepare and review contracts
• Prepare concepts and budgets
• Manage budgets and allocate resources
• Create schedules and project timelines, track deliverables
• Deliver every project on time within budget and scope.
• Develop a profitable event portfolio
• Coordinate a network of German companies and Premium Partners
Public Relations:
• Bi-Weekly update of the Delegation’s website
• Manage the LinkedIn channel of the Delegation
• Draft weekly reports, articles and posts about past and future activities
• Create graphic designs for events and announcements
• Create PowerPoint templates and digital backdrops
• Enforce the Delegation’s Corporate Identity
• Update letterheads, MS Teams backgrounds and email signatures as required
• Setup and manage a Facebook/Instagram channel
• Setup a network of journalists
• Support the Delegation with any other task needed
Contract duration :
Fixed-term contract of one (01) year, renewable.
Profil du poste
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in relevant fields of Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, Public Relations or similar
• 3 to 5 years work experience in a similar role
• Proficiency in French, and English or German (Native or level C2) is a must
• Knowledge of the third language is a plus.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Solid Event management experience.
• Experience in structuring budgets and calculate cost-income effectiveness
• Excellent attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Highly developed sense of organisation and rigour
• Independent and problem-solving work style
• Self-motivated, highly dedicated, with strong networking skills
• Autonomous, proactive and a team player
• Creative, Client friendly attitude and service orientation
• Excellent IT Skills: MS Office and communication tools is a must
• Solid experience with graphic design programs like Canva, GIMP or Adobe creative Cloud
• Experience with CRM systems and IBEXA is desirable
• Must reside in Côte d'Ivoire and have a work permit (for non-nationals)
