The International University of Grand-Bassam is seeking one candidate to fill the position of Facilities Assistant in the Administration and Finance Department (ADF) in the Facilities Unit.

BASIC FUNCTIONS OF POSITION

Assist the Manager of Facilities by providing support for Procurement and controlling the works of service providers. The assistant will also serve as duplicate for the Coordinator of the Unit. (A summary of the position description is available on our website:  http://www.iugb.edu.ci/)

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

 

Duties:

 

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Receives procurement requests from throughout the facility, checks for accuracy, and forwards to the Facilities Manager.
  • Initiates purchase requests and keeps track of the various stages until the receipt of items and payment.
  • Relays all pertinent information/issues/needs/ideas to the Facilities Manager
  • Inventory: input the data on new equipment/furniture purchased and any item being disposed of.
  • Inspect all equipment for proper functioning on a regular basis and forwards feedback to the Facilities Manager
  • Performs related work as required.

 

    

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of record keeping methods and procedures applicable to purchasing
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electricity and carpentry to evaluate work done by local suppliers
  • Shall have a valid driving license and be able to drive
  • Languages: English fluent, French fluent
  • Computer skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

 

Minimum Hiring Standards

Two years’ university education in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration or any relevant field and one-year professional experience; or a combination of training and experience.
