AWARD MANAGER (STRATEGIC PORTFOLIO AND AWARDS (GRANTS) MANAGER)

 

Objet du Rôle: 

 

The Head of Award Management is responsible for delivering an efficient and effective award management function. S/he will lead award management for all programmes, and develop best practice award management processes across the Country Office. The role has three main aspects to it: lead and develop the Country Office award management effort; capacity building of staff and contributing to the development of best practices systems and processes.

The role offers a leadership opportunity for an individual highly experienced in grants management, business development and donor communications. It requires an individual capable of providing strategic leadership to a dynamic team which is responsible for supporting ambitious fundraising targets as well as the management of a portfolio of awards currently valued at $29 million.

The individual will play a strong coordination role both internally, across the Save the Children global network and with donors to identify funding opportunities. S/He will coordinate the timely submission of high-quality proposals, in close collaboration with the Programme Design and Quality team, responsible for proposal content and development. During the implementation of projects s/he will provide support and coaching to SCI field teams to deliver donor compliant awards and will ensure and coordinate the consistent delivery of timely and quality donor financial and narrative reports. He/She will work closely to Programme and Finance staff at field and main country offices.

 

Qualifications et Expériences :

 

  • Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Science or similar
  • MnMinimum five years of experience with an NGO or similar environment, including experience developing programs for children in both emergency and development contexts
  • High level skills in teaching, mentoring, capacity building, team development, around management of accountabilities and compliance in relation to donor funding
  • Ability to work as a team with programme and coordination staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist and influence senior managers in effective decision making.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and French.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for major donors, including US Government (USAID, USDOL…), Global Funds, European Union, SIDA, etc. and ability and skills to establish compliance systems with SC staff.
  • Ability to and experience of establishing partnership management and monitoring protocols with local NGO partners.
  • Ability to present, discuss and supervise compliance with grants monitoring protocols with team members of varying levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project proposals with teams and to successfully negotiate acceptance of agreements with donors
  • Demonstrated ability to edit reports to donors in a timely manner and to manage the correspondence involved in establishing agreements on reports
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective project files for accountability and audit purposes.
  • Demonstrated experience to conduct donor’s audits.
