Purpose / Objective

Reporting to the Senior Tax Specialist & SYSCOHADA Accountant, the Tax Specialist & SYSCOHADA Accountant will assist his line manager in the management of all taxes and SYSCOHADA activities.

Key Accountabilities

• SYSCOHADA Project closure and Fixed Assets Register creation
• Prepare the VAT returns and submit all the necessary documentation to obtain in due time the refund of VAT
• Prepare tax payments; estimate and track tax returns
• Complete monthly, quarterly and annual tax reports in due time
• Organize and update the company’s tax database
• Share financial data with the accounting department; assist accounting department on daily activities regarding the compliance with tax legislation in country
• Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Education:
• Minimum Bac+3 in Finance/ Accounting

Relevant experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Tax / Accounting
• Problem solving capabilities
• French / English language skills essential
• Working experience with pack office Microsoft
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation
• Demonstrate strong conceptual skills and be capable of developing lateral and practical solutions
• Ability to respond to a changing work environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time
• Reputation for integrity and ethics
• Demonstrated leadership skills
