SENIOR FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS ASSOCIATE

OBJECTIVE: The Senior Financial Analysis Associate will be responsible for conducting detailed financial analysis, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, performing variance analysis, and providing insights to guide strategic decision-making. Key responsibilities include conducting detailed financial analyses and performance evaluations, performing variance analysis and assessing key financial metrics, supporting strategic initiatives through financial projections and business case development, collaborating with departments to analyze data and deliver actionable insights.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
FINANCIAL ANALYSIS
- Financial Analysis
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to assess business performance, identify trends, and recommend actionable strategies.
- Analyze key financial metrics and KPIs to provide insights into operational efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with various departments to gather data and insights, ensuring that financial analysis is comprehensive and actionable.
- Act as a financial partner to business units, providing support and guidance on financial matters.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development and execution of the annual budgeting process, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Support forecasting efforts by creating and maintaining robust financial models that incorporate various scenarios.
- Variance Analysis:
- Perform detailed variance analysis to compare actual performance against budgeted targets, identifying root causes of discrepancies.
- Prepare and present findings to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Strategic Support:
- Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital investments.
- Assist in the development of business cases and financial projections for new projects.
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
- Supervise the team to execute assigned projects within deadlines and budget.
- Develop and implement necessary measures to ensure flexible work practice and team building.
- Carry out performance appraisals and development plans (including training) with subordinate staff.
- Implement training and development program for staff in line with the organization’s technical and business needs.
- Coordinate the rotational schedule (on and off duty) of subordinate staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting is mandatory.
- Master's degree in Business, Finance, or Economics is a plus.
- Relevant professional certification (CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Multicultural experience is mandatory.
- Proficiency in French is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 8+ years of experience in a similar role (financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting), preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Proficiency with financial software (e.g., SAP, Sage).
- Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to develop financial models and conduct variance analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
