The Senior Hydrogeologist Engineer will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of Hydrogeology on both Agbaou and Bonikro Sites. He/She will be responsible to mitigate/manage/eliminate the risk of the impact of surface and subsurface water on open pit slope stability and mining operations. He/She will provide technical support to the dewatering team and will work closely with Geotechnical service.

• Develop and update the hydrogeological management plan, ensuring implementation of compliance monitoring, evaluation, and correction processes.
• Ensure that hydrogeological data collection is planned, captured, and interpreted within a timely manner for use within the mining schedule to maximize hydrogeological value.
• Provide adequate support for hydrogeological advice on all hydrogeological issues related to open pits, waste disposal storage areas, tailings storage facilities and stockpiles.
• Maintain up-to-date written documentation of working procedures and ensure that all hydrogeologist engineers follow established procedures.
• Prepare an appropriate budget for work and equipment related to hydrogeological activities.
• Ensure that hydrogeological compliance is maintained
• Develop hydrogeology design standards to support safe and optimal mine operations.
• Plan and manage the installation of the mine-wide water monitoring systems and boreholes.
• Develop dewatering designs to ensure compliance with mining and environmental regulations and site standards as they relate to water management for productive and safe mine operations
• Coordinate with Mine Planning and Operations to ensure maximum utilization of dewatering equipment and methods in the planning and execution phases of the operation.
• Coordinate with the hydrogeology Hydrogeological Group Management to ensure design criteria are effectively implemented and optimized based on operational performance.
• Ensure that all reporting requirements and licensing conditions by regulatory bodies are met.
• Develop, maintain, and update the Water Management plan.
• Ensure a sound hydrogeology model covering mine geology, geological structures and hydrogeology is built and updated through collection, analysis and interpretation of geotechnical data.
• Effectively communicate hydrogeology outcomes.
• Provide comprehensive and timely contributions to the daily, weekly monthly and annual reports.
• Train and mentor engineers/ hydrogeologists in all aspects of hydrogeology engineering, including identification of hydrogeology skills development programs & course for engineers/ hydrogeologists to undertake and participate in.

EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering ,Geology, with Specialisation in Hydrogeology (MSc.)
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 5 years of mining experience in large scale open-pit metal mining.
• Practical experience with advanced hydrogeology monitoring instruments and techniques.
• A high level of computer literacy with specialized hydrogeological modelling software such as (MINE DW, MODFLOW, GOLDSIM, FEFLOW, HEC-RAS/HMS, PUMPSIM, etc.).
• Effective decision making and problem solving skills.
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
• Must have solid verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
• Experience of working effectively in a senior management team environment.
• Experience working in multicultural environment.
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and build effective relationships and networks.
• Demonstrates strong conceptual skills, and be capable of developing lateral and practical solutions.
• Ability to respond to a changing work environment.
