Description du poste

The Sales Manager is a specialized, top position within the company, reporting directly to the Managing Director. The Sales Manager is responsible for designing, recruiting, and day-to-day management of Prestige Poultry’s sales team of area sales managers and district sales reps in Cote Divoire. The sales manager is also responsible for managing Prestige’s key strategic partnerships with like-minded partner organizations working with rural communities.

Job Responsibilities

A. Team Development and Management

● Launch new territories, recruit Area Sales Managers and District Sales Representatives
● Identify, recruit, onboard and train high performing Area Sales Managers
● Enable Area Sales Managers to achieve day-old chicks (DOCs) order targets and KPIs through supervision, training, and coaching.
● Enable Area Sales Managers to identify, train, and manage District Sales Representatives
● Assist Area Sales Managers in establishing personal contact and rapport with top echelon decision-makers in the local community.
● Hold regular meetings with Area Sales Managers, District Sales Representatives, Village Ambassadors, and Agents to share experiences, solve challenges, and offer guidance on how to drive adoption of the new technology.
● Remove and replace underperforming team members in a timely manner in accordance with local labor rules and regulations

B. Product Distribution Research, Planning and Activity

● Select, tailor, and introduce best practices from regional markets such as Rwanda, Uganda, Ghana, and Ethiopia in dual-purpose poultry development among smallholder farmers
● Develop specific, day-by-day plans to hit DOC targets and ensure DOC distribution growth by establishing a firm foundation of Area Sales Managers following best practices.
● Collaborate with Managing Director to develop innovative strategies to grow rural market penetration
● Conduct market and competitive assessment and recommend any required change in tactics and strategies (e.g., pricing, product, marketing)
● Accurately forecast annually, quarterly, and monthly sales for his/her country to inform production planning

C. Monitoring & Evaluation

● Monitor and report weekly and monthly distribution and impact performance
● Develop and oversee the customer and farmer impact measurement
● Monitor and report on all field-level KPIs
● Identify and resolve challenges faced by smallholder farmers and agents

D. External Relations

● Introduce Prestige Poultry to local government and stakeholders when expanding into new territory
● Inform management of updates in local regulations or policies that affect our business
● Represent the company on all sector related meetings and activities
● Manage all major partnerships targeting rural smallholders on behalf of the Company

Profil du poste

● 3+ Years’ experience in a leadership role in distributed, rural smallholder-focused dual-purpose poultry business models in Africa;
● Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary medicine, agriculture, agribusiness, agricultural marketing, or rural development;
● Experience leading teams of field staff of greater than 10 individuals;
● Proven track record of success in sales growth and reaching smallholder farmers in the last mile;
● Experience managing innovative institutional partnerships to reach more smallholder farmers.
