Description du poste

In 2015, the Jacobs Foundation committed to lead a comprehensive strategy around quality of education and early childhood development in cocoa-growing communities of Côte d’Ivoire, and nationwide. This initiative called Transforming Education in Cocoa Communities (TRECC) strives to enable children and youth to lead healthy and fulfilling lives, respond to local and global challenges, pursue their dreams, and reach their full potential. Over the last three years, the Ivorian government, 12 cocoa and chocolate companies, 20 civil society organizations and academic partners, and two foundations have joined this effort. TRECC will extend to Ghana in 2020.

The Program assistant will be in charge of providing administrative and logistical support to the TRECC program to ensure seamless operations and general wellbeing in the office. The position is based in Abidjan, with occasional field visits to rural areas of intervention across the country.

The over-arching responsibilities of the role in accordance with the operational strategy of the TRECC program include but are not limited to:

o Performing routine clerical tasks and reception duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner;
o Managing the tender process, which consists in carrying out comparative analysis and coordinating the associated decision-making process;
o Assisting the team members in order to optimize the management of their activities (logistical aspects of field visits and international missions; welcoming of participants during in-house meetings, etc.);
o Managing relations with suppliers and service providers, from a contractual and administrative point of view;
o Coordinating all recruitment processes and assisting in the orientation of new staff by providing necessary information and materials;
o Coordinating logistics for project-related events, meetings and conferences.
o Managing office and kitchen supply, including overseeing the work of the cleaning staff

Profil du poste

o Degree in administration, human resources or any other relevant area;
o Minimum of five years of professional experience;
o Strong skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and a range of digital tools;
o Fluency in spoken and written English and French, working language will be mainly French;
o Strong attention to details, great sense of organization and ability to manage confidential information;
o Ability to work within tight deadlines and cope well under pressure;
o Team player but able to work independently in managing his/her responsibilities;
o Comfortable in dealing with stakeholders of all levels.
o Passionate about social change and international development, and driven to make a difference in the lives of the youngest citizens;
