ROLES

Reporting to the HR & Administration Supervisor, the Human Resources Assistant is responsible for providing clerical support to Endeavour Agbaou HR function associated mainly with processing time sheets and maintaining Agbaou staff payroll data entry into the designated software systems including Sage, as well as providing analytical support for the firm's compensation and rewards initiatives.

MAJOR TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION

Timesheet data processing and Reporting
• Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information, and establishing entry priorities
• Complete time-sheet data collation and accurate entry into the appropriate HR System
• Verify and enter pay-related data into designated HR templates, as assigned
• Maintain and updates filing using established filing system for the department by keeping files current, retrieving information from files, and purging files as directed by established guidelines
• Prepare documents for storage
• Provide appropriate reports from the HR database for the purpose of auditing and monitoring employee payroll data
• Support with completing wage audits according to established guidelines, when required
• work with the IT team in addressing payroll system issues and in the development of payroll software management reports
• Oversee and adhere to the Company’s data protection policy and procedure and ensure private and confidential data is kept secure and disposed of in the appropriate manner

Advice and Guidance
• Provide day to day advice to Supervisors and Employees on general HR related queries and requests while escalating more complex issues to the direct Supervisor

Safety Management:

• Demonstrate personal commitment in regard to safety and environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
• Ensure that agreed procedures, safeguards and controls are applied and used.
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures
• Ensure hazard management plans are observed.
• Keep statutory and internal reporting as required.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education:
• Bac + 2 in Human Resources, Business Administration or any other equivalent degree

Relevant experience:

• 2 year in clerical office experience basically within HR function
• Experience of using and maintaining HR databases
• Experience in mining industry is an advantage
• Strong organization skills
• Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience with Sage X3 is an advantage
• Knowledge of local Labour Law
• Good French language skills with working knowledge of English
• Team work experience in a multicultural environment
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and build effective relationships and networks
• Ability to respond to a changing work environment
• Accuracy and attention to detail
