SNS is recruiting for an important group one (01) Inventory and Operational Planner West Africa - Supply Chain & Logistics Bilingual
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the FWAFR Procurement & Supply Chain Manager (with dotted line to Supply Chain & Inventory Manager Africa), this role will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a world class Inventory and Operations Planning process across the enterprise to improve customer satisfaction, profitability, inventory turns and working capital.
KEY ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE
• Working with the company’s BU’s to establish, implement and execute a global SIOP strategy
• Coordinate all facets of the SIOP (Sales Inventory Operations Planning) process to provide optimum Customer Service levels and working capital performance as defined by the organization’s business operating plans and strategic objectives.
• Cooperate with BU’s and labs and deliver agreed upon, workable volume forecast (short, mid and long term).
• Ensure gaps and overlaps are addressed, scenarios are completed and issues appropriately escalated to meet business objectives.
• This role will work closely with other key functions, including Finance, Procurement, Lab Managers to ensure that the appropriate data is available and accurate.
• To share plan with SGS management as appropriate; to gain approval for plan deployment as basis for negotiating / ordering supply.
• To work with procurement supply organization in developing a supply plan that meets forecast, mitigates stock outage risks and avoids major inventory accumulation.
• To deliver fundamental improvements in the flow & acquisition process for consumables and equipment.
• To define, implement and roll out operational process improvement, including relevant critical KPIs which underpin performance improvement
• To provide monthly reporting which highlights progress and monitors the approach to achievement of goals
• To establish and lead cross-functional teams which may consist of diverse internal / external functions
• To leverage and/or aggregate successes across affiliates and regions
• To conduct on site inventory cycle counts, jointly with a Finance representative, reconcile the results with the system, and to report and analyse variances.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES REQUIERED
DIPLOMA: BAC+3/4/5
TRAINING: Supply chain, logistics
EXPERIENCE: 5 years at least
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to work in English (must) and French
• Ability to communicate clearly with all parts of the organization and to present information in a concise manner to senior management.
• Strong experience in demand management, planning, scheduling or other supply chain focus is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of forecasting technology or ERP system is required, Oracle Inventory experience a plus.
• High proficiency using PC based applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); it is not anticipated that a proprietary demand planning system is in situ for all locations of the company
• Experience re-engineering and/or establishing processes
• Understanding of advanced supply chain concepts and their financial impact (inventory turns, cash flow and working capital) is required.
• Good understanding of logistics activities and impact on up/downstream activities
• Commercial acumen; results driven
• Project Management skills
• Strong change management mind set and capability to manage change
• Ability to organize and prioritize activity
• Ability to functional independency, seeking functional guidance as required
• Energetic and enthusiastic with a passion for excellence. Able to work across multiple time zones.
• The role may extend to AWAFR in the future
