SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNATIONAL IN COTE D'IVOIRE recruits a:

 (01)  PARTNERSHIP MANAGER

National Post based in Abidjan.

THE ROLE:

The Partnerships Manager support program and support staff who manage partnerships in individual projects and programs. It is a cross-cutting role involving technical assistance and support to ensure high quality, feedback and learning in our partnerships. S/he works closely with Award Management Department, Finance Department and Internal Controllers.

 

Under the supervision of the Director of programme operation, He / she will:

 

Develop partnership strategy and tools

  • Undertake stakeholder analysis and partnership scoping for programs
  • Ensure harmonization of vision on partnership and liaison between partners 
  • Ensure coordination and coherence between tools and approaches between different partnerships, functions and programs (i.e. agreement on standard tools, working groups)
  • Develop and support the implementation of standardized partnership monitoring tools and protocols both technically and financial and maintain up to date a partnership management toolkit and manual

 

Conduct annual self-assessment on partnership management and lead CO level partnership action plan

  • Conduct regular workshop and survey on partnership management to get improvements

Partnership implementation

  • Support partner identification and selection in close collaboration with thematic lead & bring technical support in partner’s capacity assessment
  • Ensure an MoU is signed between Save the Children and potential implementing partners per sector to get ready for new award opportunity
  • Ensure that partnership risk assessments are conducted, documented and uploaded
  • Coordinate support for partners across functions during kick off and project implementation
  • Support project managers in monitoring partnership (capacity, project performance, relationship, compliance) & Follow partner field visit by programme, finance and awards to an agreed schedule

Conduct an annual partner feedback survey

  • Set up data base and issues tacker on partners

Capacity strengthening

  • Ensure cost for partners capacity strengthening are adequately budgeted for in each proposal
  • Provide needed training/orientation to staff (including for remote management)
  • Support and facilitate mutual review with partners and share feedback on learning on achievement and ways of working
  • Coordinating efforts with other agencies who are also working with the same partners

General

  • Participate in internal and external meetings, workshops, training
  • Any other tasks required by the supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

 

  • Post graduate or Master degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in the humanitarian sector/with NGOs, with at least 2 years’ experience in partnership based programming or contract managements
  • Good skills and experience in all aspects of programme cycle management - design and development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation
  • Sound understanding of remote management/monitoring practices
  • Experience in organizational capacity development, training, mentoring and coaching
  • Proven experience in field level representation with key stakeholders and co-ordination with other NGOs/UN
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically
  • Demonstrable experience of Monitoring & Evaluation and beneficiary accountability
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including a good track record of report writing
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • A high level of written and spoken French and English
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.

 

CONTRACT LENGTH: 2 years, renewable
