Description du poste

SUMMARY OF WORK:
Under the direct responsibility of the Program Manager the technical assistant main responsibility is to provide administrative or technical support in WASH to facilitate the implementation of projects in the project areas. The WASH Technical Assistant will participate in the development, design and planning of new WASH projects. These would include innovative and sustainable approaches for water supply and sanitation as well as linkages to the overall strategy for the country. The WASH technical Assistant support for implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene projects in compliance with the donor and HFH requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

- Adhere to HFHCI policies,
- Establish municipal monitoring unit for drinking water, sanitation and hygiene
- Develop training modules of wash services management in rural areas
- Organize coaching sessions for municipal technical services officers and officials on the management of public water and sanitation basic services
- Organize public dialogue between elected officials, government representative, local leaders and population on Drinking Water and Sanitation services (DWSS)
- Analyze the context in which WASH projects are conducted;
- Identify and assess sanitary conditions, access to water resources and sanitation infrastructure in the intervention areas;
- Design and carry out tasks related to the action plan and the organization’s strategy
- Develop partnership and networking;
- Participate in logistics, regulations & security procedures when implementing WASH activities;
- Develop and coordinate WASH in school toolkit development;
- Recruit, develop and manage the project team;
- Lead the establishment, Operationalization, and capacities development of school health committees to the promotion of hygiene and sanitation in schools using WASH in school toolkit
- Lead the development of drinking water, sanitation and hand washing facilities within schools and communities;
- Establish, Operationalize, and develop capacities of school health committees including teachers to the promotion of hygiene and sanitation in schools using WASH in school toolkit,
- Develop an operational guideline on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) and build capacities of schoolgirls
- Coordinate the distribution of reusable pads to schoolgirls aged from 10 years and orient them on how it should be used
- Train female teachers on Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)
- Coordinate the equipment of schools with changing rooms, adequate waste disposal facilities and mirrors,
- Train and equip masons in latrines construction technics
- Lead the development of an operational guideline on Menstrual Hygiene and build capacities of school girls;
- Lead the promotion of Hygiene and sanitation best practices through CLTS and organize sensitization activities in partnership with the project stakeholders;
- Lead the baseline study in the project locations and develop evidence based decision making tools;
- Support municipal and regional authorities in accountability development towards their population regarding quality of water and Sanitation services;
- Participate in planning and budgeting, preparation of work plans, implementation of planned activities and monitoring/ reporting of progress.
- Conduct and supervise water testing.
- Participate in periodic reviews, including quarterly reviews to identify success stories relating to the project and areas of improvement;
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
- Ensure Documentation of all Activities of the Project in soft and hard;
- Ensure timely submission of weekly/monthly work plans et reports;
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager;
- Documentation of evidence-based impact stories.

Profil du poste

Eligibilities and requirements Education
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following areas: public health, social work, local Development, and/or Sociology, WASH, Civil Engineering, environment, Infrastructures, hygiene education, water supply or hydrogeology or other fields related to the work of Habitat for Humanity;
- At least 3 years’ experience in WASH project implementation and coordination in a major Non-Governmental Organizations.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience of community based projects/programs
- Experience in Budget planning and management and project management including team oversighting;
- Development and designing of trainings; and facilitating training workshops
- Experience leading community-focused IEC/BCC campaign in WASH sector will be an added advantage
- Experience leading CLTS project will be an added advantage,
