SAVE THE CHILDREN in Cote d'Ivoire recruits a: 

(01) PARTNERSHIP MANAGER

THE ROLE:

The Partnerships Manager support program and support staff who manage partnerships in individual projects and programs. It is a cross-cutting role involving technical assistance and support to ensure high quality, feedback and learning in our partnerships. S/he works closely with Award Management Department, Finance Department and Internal Controllers.

Under the supervision of the Director of programme operation, He / she will:

  • Undertake stakeholder analysis and partnership scoping for programs
  • Ensure there is a partnership mapping per sector
  • Ensure harmonization of vision on partnership and liaison between partners 
  • Ensure coordination and coherence between tools and approaches between different partnerships, functions and programs (i.e. agreement on standard tools, working groups)
  • Ensure common agreement on partnership approach, indicators and tools for individual programs with relevant members
  • Develop and support the implementation of standardized partnership monitoring tools and protocols both technically and financial
  • Conduct annual self-assessment on partnership management and lead CO level partnership action plan
  • Bring technical support in partner’s capacity assessment before contract signing
  • Undertake compliance checking and vetting with each potential partners
  • Support contract and MoU process with partners
  • Ensure an MoU is signed between Save the Children and potential implementing partners per sector to get ready for new award opportunity
  • Follow partner field visit by programme, finance and awards to an agreed schedule
  • Support project managers in monitoring partnership (capacity, project performance, relationship, compliance)
  • Ensure a Management Letter is prepare at least annually for each partner action points to be implemented by each partner
  • Provide technical support to project staff in partner review meetings and in close-out of a partnership at the end of an award
  • Ensure cost for partners capacity strengthening are adequately budgeted for in each proposal
  • Coordinate and support organizational capacity assessment and the development of organizational capacity development plan for partners in close collaboration with thematic lead
  • Support and facilitate mutual review with partners and share feedback on learning on achievement and ways of working
  • Organise Partner forums to discuss achievement and lesson learnt and dissemination of best practices
  • Ensure that all partners receive training on fraud and child safeguarding and integrate these issues in their capacity development plans and day to day practices. 
  • As assigned, represent the CO in forums and conferences on Partnership Management within SC Network

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post graduate or Master degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in the humanitarian sector/with NGOs, with at least 2 years’ experience in partnership based programming or contract managements
  • Good skills and experience in all aspects of programme cycle management - design and development, implementation, and monitoring and evaluation
  • Sound understanding of remote management/monitoring practices
  • Experience in organizational capacity development, training, mentoring and coaching
  • Proven experience in field level representation with key stakeholders and co-ordination with other NGOs/UN
  • Proven commitment to participatory approaches
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills and the ability to think and plan strategically
  • Demonstrable experience of Monitoring & Evaluation and beneficiary accountability
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including a good track record of report writing
  • Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy
  • A high level of written and spoken French and English
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.

CONTRACT LENGTH: 2 years, renewable
