LOGISTICS COORDINATOR

Missions

Directly linked to the Management, you will be in charge to coordinate all the activities of the Logistics and Freight Forwarding department, ensuring that the services are constantly rendered on a safe, timely, efficient and cost effective manner to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, issue and follow-up the quotations sent to the customers
• Develop our Logistics and Freight Forwarding activities
• Commercial development with existing and new clients
• Manage customs clearances and transport operations
• Perform and supervise invoicing, cost control and profitability of the job files

Main Activities

• Organize the department, the team and ensure cohesion within it and with other departments.
• Issuance, improvement, and implementation of procedures.
• Develop our set-up, partnerships, and logistic projects in Ivory Coast as well as in the neighbour countries.
• Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers.
• Manage and develop our client’s portfolio, targeting but not limited to the oil and gas sector, marine contractors, industry, projects, NGO, both in Ivory Coast and abroad.
• Initiate commercial actions to identify, approach and offer our services to prospects.
• Prepare and supervise operations to ensure a good achievement of customs clearance, handling and deliveries of shipments to the various places of destination (vessels, Abidjan city, neighbour countries), taking into account the priority levels.
• Implementing health and safety procedures.
• Provide all necessary information and back-up for the preparation of invoices.
• Control all costs related to the Logistics and Freight Forwarding activity and ensure that profitability ratios are reached on all job files.
• Prepare and issue regular reporting to customers and management.
• Achieve all complementary tasks asked by the Management.

Profile

• You have a Master’s degree in Transport and Logistics, Business or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of national and international import/export legislation, including customs regimes, customs procedures and HS classification.
• Between 5 and 10 years of experience in freight forwarding, customs clearance, air, sea and road transportation, large project handling as a plus.
• Effective communication skills and ability to handle multiple tasks all with an attention to fine detail.
• Analysis, anticipation, organization skills, focussed on results.
• Negotiation and conviction skills. Team worker and creative force.
• A solid network with the port, airport authorities, customs, trucking companies, shipping lines,…
• Good knowledge of MS office (Word, Excel, Power Point) and MS Outlook.
• Dynamic, thorough, autonomous, team leader, with a high standard of compliance and ethic.
• Good command of French, English, both written and spoken.
• Eager to prove your capabilities and to rapidly evolve and gain responsibilities in a promising structure.
