The Côte d’Ivoire Cluster, with its head office in Abidjan includes Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Burkina Faso and is a fast changing and dynamic collection of markets. Maersk Liner business has established a strong and expanding presence in the area with an expectation for continued growth and development in the future.

Reporting to the Maersk Liner Business Cluster Top, the Burkina Faso Sales Representative will recommend and deliver an effective commercial strategy, drive costs and efficiency improvements.

  • Networking both internally within APM organization and externally with key stakeholders
  • Develop strong knowledge on market, competitors and industry trend
  • Improve understanding of how best to generate profit for ML/Safmarine

Key Responsibilities

  • To deliver increased volume and yield for cargo in and out of BFA
  • To secure business and develop the right mix of customer/cargo/corridor in order to fill up the ships with the most profitable cargo BFA related
  • Assist with processing price quotes and rate negotiations.
  • To engage with clients to ensure successful relationship maintenance + identify new ongoing opportunities for cargo in and out of BFA
  • Customer dialogue through frequent phone/email communication and minimum amount of sales phone calls per month as per targets
  • To perform as absolute minimum sales calls per month as per targets
  • Minimum documented leads per month as per targets
  • To arrange proper reporting and monitor performances against KPI and propose actions where necessary
  • Gather market research and competitive market intelligence, supplying info to Trade & Marketing Department
  • Act as a daily link for interaction with customer service, operations, finance and sales for BFA based customers
  • Seek continuously improvement on customer satisfaction/customer experience
  • Ensure adequate update/usage of Sales IT Systems.
  • Actively promote E-Commerce channels
  • Assist both brands in stakeholder management for Burkina Faso
  • Your performance in general will be measured on the ability to achieve the agreed objectives using KPI’S as defined by the business unit.
