SENIOR DRILLING ENGINEER - DEEPWATER
Our client are an independent Exploration and Production company with operations throughout the United States and other regions of the world. They are currently experiencing large growth and are expanding their offices and assets. There is now an immediate opening for an Experienced Deepwater Senior Drilling Engineer to join their Houston, TX Office immediately for their African operations.
As Senior Drilling Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Provide the evaluation, design, implementation, and post well analysis of all phases of drilling and completion operations.
- Conducts well planning and design. Bids, reviews, and recommends contractor services.
- Responsible for maintaining required safety training and compliance.
- Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Acts as a technical expert within the organization and is a top individual contributor who possesses expert knowledge in area of professional/technical discipline.
- Planning drilling operations and completion
- Continually monitor and implement best industry practices and technology
- Well design and the drilling process
- Casing and cement program designs
- Prepare operation plans, drilling schedules and well plans
- Work alongside multi-discipline departments to design and optimize new well programs
- Coordinate with Field Consultants to plan and execute drilling program
- Prepare AFE's
- Track progress against drilling metrics
Status: Contract
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have current/recent 7 years minimum experience as Senior Drilling Engineer with deepwater AND deepwater rig experience in the last 10 years
- Experience in the last 7 years for Deepwater Planning and Operations
- Preferably degree-level educated but not necessary
- A minimum of 7 years in the last 5 years deepwater drilling engineering from an operator's role.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in oil and gas drilling practices, preferably offshore.
- Previous field operations drilling experience is desirable.
- Must have a working knowledge of federal regulatory laws and regulations (i.e. BSEE, Environmental Protection Agency, USCG).
- Must be proficient with personal computers and have a working knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office Suite, database management and local area networks.
- Must be able to deal logically and effectively with all levels of management in a team environment.
- Must be proficient with staff work including oral and written communications.
