Job description
Operations Manager new country (initially working out of Abidjan).
YooMee Africa is a leading broadband wireless Internet operator and among the most innovative companies in sub Saharan Africa. YooMee just launched the first LTE network in West-Africa with the inauguration of its Abidjan operations. YooMee continues to expand into other markets of the region and is looking for a top performer to become Operations Manager for Côte d'Ivoire. This role is reporting to the Country Managing Director.

The Position
An experienced operational manager with very strong people management skills, technical background in general and specifically with Internet Service Provider or Mobile Operator business, having deep wireless or telecom technological knowledge of building and operating broadband networks, IT infrastructure and IP networks, strong project management, capable to establish precise internal processes and experienced with customer operations and call centers.
For this position you will lead complete operations team with major functions reporting to you including technical issues, network planning, engineering, IT, project management, network deployment, equipment testing and technical aspects of regulatory issues with full budget responsibility. Furthermore this position will supervise customer care and intra-department processes and ensures smooth daily operations.
Main tasks include:
- Ensure project dates and targets are met
- Ensure all projects are within the budget
- Establish the annual technical budget to be presented to the management
- Develop KPI's of all technical activities
- Assuring strong and efficient communications and processes within the local operations and on group level
- Regular reporting
- Manage and coach the technical and customer care team, enforce company procedures
- Leadership and development of the teams and each employee individually
Desired Skills and Experience
Candidate Profile
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience with a telecom operator in Europe or Middle East in technical management
- Experience in people management, leadership and customer operations
- Deep customer orientation
- Good understanding in budget and reporting
- Very strong understanding of the West African market
- High affinity and curiosity about new technology, competitive analysis and positioning
- University degree, ideally coupled with an MBA
