The faculty will be expected to teach courses in the appointed subject area, engage in applied research and render services as required by IUGB administration. Materials and course development as well as providing learning support to students are integral responsibilities of this position.
Qualifications:
• A Ph.D. in Mining Engineering or a closely related field, preferably earned from an accredited institution in an English-speaking country. a Master’s degree with solid industry experience may be accepted and will be considered for the position of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer depending on experience.
• Native-like fluency in English.
• Familiarity with the US-style of higher education.
Experience:
• Essential:
At least three years teaching experience at university level
Publications in peer reviewed journals in area of specialization or closely related fields.
Ability to teach several mining engineering courses such as Mining Geology, Petroleum Geology, Metallurgical and Materials Thermodynamics, Surface & Underground Mining Methods, Mine Design & Planning, Rock Mechanics, Drilling & Blasting Engineering, Mineral Exploration & Evaluation, Mine Valuation, Mineral Processing, Solution Mining and Processing of Ores, Mine Ventilation, Mine Health-Safety and Environment, Explosives Engineering, Excavation Project Management, Mine System Analysis, Geostatistics, Mine Finance, Mine Economics & Management, Sustainable Mining
Practices, etc.
• Highly recommended:
International teaching experience and/or study or extended stay in an English-speaking country.
Experience using software tools such as Fundamentals for 3D Data Analysis and Mine Planning, Surpac, Datamine, Vulcan, Leapfrog, Whittle, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, etc.
Practical experience in Industry or Research and Development.
