Description du poste

An IT Support Assistant Officer provides front-line technical assistance, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues to ensure operational efficiency. They install, configure, and maintain computers and peripherals, manage user accounts, and document support requests in a helpdesk system. Key duties include resolving technical problems, setting up workstations for staff, and performing system maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities
Description:
User Support & Helpdesk
• Provide technical support to end users (hardware, software, and network-related issues)
• Log, track, and resolve support tickets within agreed SLA timeframes
• Diagnose and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
• Provide on-site and remote support to users
Hardware & Software Support
• Install, configure, and maintain PCs, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
• Install, configure, and support operating systems (Windows / macOS)
• Install, update, and maintain standard business software and applications
• Perform routine system checks and preventative maintenance
Network & Connectivity
• Assist with basic network support (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, cabling)
• Troubleshoot internet, email, and connectivity issues
• Assist with router, switch, and firewall configuration (basic level)
Systems & Security
• Assist with user account management (Active Directory, email accounts, permissions)
• Apply security updates, patches, and antivirus solutions
• Support backup procedures and data recovery processes
• Adhere to IT security policies and best practices
• Assist with Sales Force Automation (SFA) support
• Assist with ERP support
Documentation & Administration
• Maintain accurate documentation of IT assets and configurations
• Update user guides and technical documentation
• Assist with IT procurement and stock control

Profil du poste

Common Qualifications and Skills
• Education: A diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (A+/N+/Security+/CCNA/MCSA Advantageous).
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in Windows/macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Office O365 and basic networking (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP).
• Skills: Strong troubleshooting abilities, customer service skills, and clear communication.
• Experience: Previous experience in IT support or a similar helpdesk role is often required.
