Role Description
The ideal candidate is a mid-career, talented oil & gas professional who enjoy working within fast paced and challenging business environments. We need individuals with the professional maturity and exposure to help position the company at the forefront of the oil & gas industry in Ivory Coast. They will be charged with contributing to devising as well as executing the strategic plan to achieve the company's mission and objectives and to promote revenue, profitability and growth as an organization. The individual would solely be accountable for overseeing company’s market development efforts in-country.
Primary Responsibilities
- Take the lead in coordinating all activities related to executing very comprehensive and accurate market analysis / research; scoping, market intelligence; identifying key competitors, SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, gaps in the market in terms of service capabilities, market sizing pertaining to the detailed understanding of upcoming projects / opportunities within the market. These back-end, pre-sales activities help the development strategist seek out and scope opportunities to help prospective customers understand, compare and contrast company’s solutions available to them.
- Generate leads and lead the company’s interaction with prospective client’s technical and commercial teams, and ensure that company’s products / services are introduced via scheduled demonstrations, presentations, Lunch & Learn events, webinars etc. Seek out opportunities to influence company’s Business development efforts by providing the technical interface between company and clients key personnel. Ensure adequate market coverage amongst prospective and existing clients. Define strategy for company’s interaction with each customer and partner group.
- Post presentation; follow up with client’s personnel to disposition agreed next steps while simultaneously refining the delivery strategy in alignment with each client’s peculiar operating environment and requirement. Efforts in this regard will be measured by percentage of deals closed directly attributable to the business development support provided by the MDS.
- Liaise regularly with client organizations regarding their operational requirements / challenges and continue to provide feedback to partner organizations regarding service enhancement to meet client requirements.
- Work within established operational rhythm to provide quick market intelligence report/dashboard/KPI summaries on a weekly basis.
- Ensures he/she achieves and/or surpasses company’s operational plan and client’s KPI on projects.
- Contribute to designing company structure and setting-up greenfield company (with particular emphasis on HR and local Content strategy definition and performance evaluation).
- Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions
- Promote the company through relevant networking meetings/industry events
- Ensure strict adherence to company’s designed operational processes and provide guidance to close gaps
- Develop commercially and technically competitive proposals which appropriately manage and mitigate identified risks to CES based on accurate interpretation of customer’s requirements in request for proposals (RFPs) and call for tenders (CFTs) issued.
- Develop marketing materials such as sales presentations, collaterals and other tools to ensure impactful product demonstrations / service presentation in the field
- Other responsibilities as directed by Company leadership.
Ideal Employee Profile
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or science (Geology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics etc.) from a recognized university with five to twelve years post-graduation experience in the energy industry. A candidate with an advanced degree, such as an MBA, will standout. You must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio & Project). Highly motivated self-starters with strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with excellent communication skills are encouraged to apply.
